As Valiantone has pointed out the Beverley parked at Hendon was , in practice, an "orphan". RAFM effectively not allowed to refurbish it financially, MoD not accepting responsibility for its upkeep.
It was becoming structurally unsafe and a growing potental threat to the safety of Museum visitors.
Thus a very difficult managerial decison had to be made, governed by overriding H&S considerations.
