Anyone thinking that WZZ or any other airline in this situation doesn’t need cash is deluding themselves in the current situation. They managed to reduce their cost base by 85% in Q2 granted, but have deferred a lot of costs and bookings down the line.

My understanding is that they qualified for this loan as they were registered in a U.K. territory. They also have a UK AOC which keeps 100s of people directly employed. It needs to be paid back and EZY have been very upfront with their need to structure in their repayments.

They are almost going to build their way out of their “recession” rather than their competitors who are hunkering down. The proof will be in the pudding if it pays off.

Of course the original comment to this nature above was never about said posters political opinions about the typical Wizzair customer...
