To put my adverse reaction into perspective, I think that, had I still been working, I'd have taken one day off when I felt a bit too rough to be at work. Over the years I've had a fair few vaccinations, and the only other time I can remember feeling rough for a day or so afterwards was, I think, the yellow fever one, years ago. The side effects from last Saturday's flu jab seemed to me to be similar to those I remember from the yellow fever jab.

Much of my concern was because I'd not ever had an adverse reaction to the flu jab before, plus, I'm sure, the fact that this damned plague tends to focus one's attention on feeling a bit unwell.
