iPad button drops out.
The button drops right out. Putting it back sounds like it allows the unit to fire up, but that's as far as she can get. No keyboard to do anything, let alone select the software button. Is there perhaps an intermediate bit that's gone missing?
I know nothing about Apple kit, other than the bewildering wealth it's created. I gather the latest company value has exceeded all previous pinnacles.
