Merely indicating that SOU/TFS has already happened, albeit with a somewhat exceptional aircraft. That said on a least one occcasion an en-route tech stop for fuel was necessary due to exceptionally strong head winds.
If a A319/320 is going to be able to carry an economic load the northern extension and the improved take-off/climb environment are apparently the way forward to make this happen.
