Ok...so back on topic.
Fully understand and 100% agree with the need to isolate.
I have access to an aircraft and can travel to the airport, fly and return home without any social interaction whatsoever.
I am a professional pilot and need to keep current for work purposes...specifically finding work! (even though my airline is currently grounded).
Under Stage 3, recreational pilots could fly and AOPA did receive written authorisation from DHHS that confirmed this.
Under Stage 4, Has anyone from AOPA/AFAP or similar contacted or gained approval from DHHS to permit such work-related activity as flying an ILS/GPS approach and landing for recency for professional pilots?
Additionally, the aircraft I access are suffering mechanically and need to be flown (not ground run) to prevent engine damage.
So, not wanting to look for loopholes and not wanting to contribute to a significant health issue in Melbourne, just wanting to clarify this situation if anyone has a definitive answer please?
