I think this will be the first of many. Talking to someone over the weekend, apparently LHR have overbooked slots for this winter and have given the new slots to airlines like China Airlines, Westjet, Rwandair and UIA, all of whom fly from Gatwick right now. It looks as though Gatwick is about to take a very big hit on its long-haul ops with them following Virgin up the road to LHR. The flip side of that is Wizz Air are likely to be able to get all of the slots they could want at LGW this winter, which won't be good news for easyJet. Given a choice - not that they are - easyJet must surely prefer having BA as a competitor at LGW to Wizz Air.....
