I now admit I was wrong, to some extent.
After looking at where the aircraft are stores (787 and 330) half of the 330 fleet has been stored for 4 months at avv and the other half are operating periodically. This situation for the 330 will continue, as it makes sense.
As for the 787 Qantas has a problem, they need to store them somewhere at the moment they are in the capital cities which are expensive, I would assume, they need to do a 9+ month hibernation on them and the only place left is the desert.
If they where clever they would have parked them months ago at avv.
As for JQ787 why would you wake them up from there slumber just to send them away to have another sleep, at the moment they are at avv.
AVV is damp and right beside the sea. It is not ideal for long-term storage. The JQ 788s and the remaining QF A332s not yet moved will all need to relocate soon
