Perhaps something to do with the absolute nightmare of reactivating 20+ year old Airbus machines. Older Airbus have enough trouble sitting on the bay overnight let alone parked for years.
I really do pity those poor engineers who have to try and get those 380s back in service.
Not unknown for leasing companies to scrap rather than reactivate.
