Modern Aircraft have EGPWS that gives out a warning of ‘Don’t sink’ on approaches. I just wondered, when taking off in that steam driven ergonomic slum, did the Nav in the back have a similar role by prodding the Pilot with a pointy stick and shouting ‘Don’t sink!’? See Video at 0:40 secs.
