Honestly, you would hardly know we have an Air Force operating out of Leeming today.*** I've had 25 years (1975 to 2000) service in RAF North Yorkshire, with the odd sortie further afield when Manning found me. From Jet Provosts and Bulldogs to Tornado F3's. In comparison, today's RAF North Yorkshire is graveyard quiet. However, obviously avoid the approach/departure lanes. Scruton to the North and Pickhill to the South in particular. Although Scuton has an excellent pub, alas Pickhill is now publess. Also, remember to set your wristwatch back thirty years.
