When looking at sites such as FR24 during the search for the F15 which crashed in June I saw many aircraft tracks but nothing for a P8. Was one there?
Do the P8s hold any form of SAR readiness as the Nimrod did? Do we have enough available to have one on continual 24 hr SAR? Does, or indeed can, the P8 carry a SAR pack of any description which they can drop to survivors?
Before anyone jumps down my throat this is not P8 bashing just a question.
The P8 doesn’t feature at all in the Maritime and Coastguard Agency‘s next contract (2024+) assumptions. It was specifically excluded during their industry day briefing in May.
