Does, or indeed can, the P8 carry a SAR pack of any description which they can drop to survivors?
RAAF are using the UNIPAC III SAR kit on their P-8’s The aircraft can carry five kits in the weapons bay, with each kit containing a 20-man life raft plus survival gear, food & water and comms. Since the RAF have only received two P-8’s to date, I guess it’s early days, but it has a declared SAR role so I think it likely they will have the same or similar kits available.
