I made hard work of it LOL, through lack of skill on my part I ended up stuck on/near Bishop for 1 hour just above the ridge,I was obviously waiting for something better to come along - eventually managed to get a semi decent thermal to get across to W Lomond and then transition to wave. Actually looking at my barogram I must have been in at least 8kt up for a while - I must have been enjoying the view too much to really take in the vario reading.
I also was climbing in a straight line @ 46kt at one stage with a little + Flap selected but usually flying a little faster than that

We didn't go on the hill at all, pulled of a little below 3,000 AAL a bit north of it. The trace shows climb all the way from there. I think the trick was pulling off at the right point. Apart from the first 500' or so of the tow I did all the flying. P1 commented he hadn't been in wave for a long time!
