One thing is certain, they will be a lot more selective in re-employing those laid off then they were in terminating them. Personnel will be going through files very thoroughly when deciding who to bring back once the schedule picks up again. Older crew with poor records may as well forget it. Younger crew with a reasonable experience level and a good history with the company will be first in line.

Market forces will determine T&Cs, with a low end opening offer to see who bites, and then possibly bumped up a bit if they aren't getting the sort of applicants they want.

Whilst this often occurs because that's how they met, having both parties in a relationship working for the same company is a big negative in times like this. During the Ansett collapse many households lost both incomes at the same time, whereas those with one partner working for a different employer had some money coming in.
