Thumbs up

Thank you everyone, well four out of five of you, who has replied so far. I'll deal with the odd one out later
POL.777 Narvik sounds just what I am looking for and I will definitely be taking time to explore the local area.
M609 Perhaps I should use a long weekend off to get to the North of Scotland to see the Aurora in March. You are a lucky person being able to see it.
Nick Figaretto Thank you for all those suggestions. I am hoping to have about 10 or 12 days but can't be sure at the moment. I don't intend doing the German Tourist bit, I want to see the local, off the beaten track areas too and having to pack up the caravan every day and drive off to another site is not my idea of fun. I did it once with my mum but that was because she could not manage long distances in the car so needed frequent overnight stops. I don't for one minute regret doing it as it was the last time she was able to visit me before she died and she had a wonderful time. I am thinking of staying at two sites in different areas for a few days at a time.
Harek den Hardbalne (sorry I don't know how to do the "o" over your name), thanks for your good wishes and that url, I will have a good look at it when I have a bit more time to really give it the attention it needs. I will keep you all posted about my progress, intended route, and dates and would be very happy to meet up with any of you who may be around. You four have proved my point that Vikings are not uncivilised, far from it There is, however, always one who blots the communal copy book, in this case Miserlou.
Miserlou you describe yourself as a "Pilut" hmmm, you need enlightening. I am NOT "him". I am well aware that ladies who tow their own caravans are few and far between and those who take them abroad are an even rarer species but you have just met one of them. Actually you can be forgiven for the mistake as my name doesn't really give a clue as to whether I am male or female and yes, I DID realise it was all a bit of fun as is this bit if my reply.
I'm looking forward to this trip and am off now to try to look up some ferry times and prices.
