Ansett couldn't find a buyer 20 yrs ago when it was offered for $1 so why would anyone buy Virgin with a $7 billion dollar debt!?
Well at least $2 billion of that is unsecured debt, so they may have to whistle. Another $450 million is notionally what is due to staff if they collapse. Some of the rest is lease payments due for the next X years. So pretty quickly $7 billion is more like $4 billion.
