Qatar and the UK yesterday signed an upgraded, bilateral Air Services Agreement (ASA) that provides for national carrier Qatar Airways and designated British airlines to operate 14 flights each between Doha and London every week. The new ASA offers Qatar Airways and British Airways and another UK carrier to operate 14 flights per week between Doha and London Heathrow or London Gatwick airports. Qatar Airways, he said, currently operates 13 weekly flights between Doha and London Heathrow. In addition, the two carriers can also operate seven cargo freighters between Doha and London every week. The UK has also designated another carrier, British Midland Airlines, to operate flights between Doha and London.
