Apologies for the thread drift, but am I imagining seeing a Caribou suffer a crash landing at Farnborough some time in the past ?
Almost - it was a Buffalo, DHC5 (the Caribou was DHC4) Farnborough 1984. Search youTube and you will find it. Flown by Bill Loverseed, who later died in the crash of a Dash7, over Dartmoor, on a C of A airtest out of Guernsey. They stalled and spun after not putting flap down before reducing speed for part of the test. Pulled full back till just before impact...
(Again, apologies for thread drift)
