Post Covid Update v2
Update to my err... update. Since we've had some announcements and more rigid plans on restart dates. Airport has added more information for passengers flying through to its website on precautions and expectations. It has also added a 'pre-register' system so passengers can indicate their expected arrival times, presumably to aid planning the management of traffic flow through the terminal.
Aurigny
- Normal schedule now to resume on 01/09 but subject to change.
- 14 weekly flights to GCI and 14 to ACI currently bookable from 01/09.
- 5 weekly 'essential travel only' SOU-GCI to continue as now until then. E195 being used occasionally to keep crew training up to speed.
Blue Islands
- No updates this week, 29 weekly flights to GCI and 23 weekly to JER due to resume from 29/06. The GCI flights are almost certain to be pushed back based on the Aurigny changes and local Govt strategy which is pretty much eradicated Covid from the island.
- 3 weekly 'essential travel only' SOU-JER to continue as now until then.
Eastern Airways
- ABZ (via NCL), BHD, MAN, NCL services to start from 22/06, LBA and MME from 29/06. All 5 weekly Mon-Fri only and now all J41 except ABZ/NCL which is on the ER4.
- Full schedule is currently bookable out of SOU from 29/08, with the based J41 operating BHD and MAN getting swapped for the AT7 then (MAN 17 weekly, LBA 15 weekly, NCL 11 weekly, MME 10 weekly, BHD 7 weekly).
- I expect this will be ramped up sooner if demand picks up faster than expected, certainly for the likes of MAN.
- SOU-DUB start date today confirmed as 23/07 on the Eastern and airport Twitter accounts. Not bookable yet, nor has a frequency or aircraft type been confirmed.
easyJet
- SOU-GVA on sale 2x weekly starting back up in December as usual.
Loganair
- SOU routes all start/restart from 15/06 - EDI, GLA and NCL all to operate 4-6x weekly late afternoon departures on ER4 aircraft for the first 3 weeks.
- Full schedule currently due to resume from 06/07 (EDI 26 weekly, GLA 25 weekly both on AT7, NCL 18 weekly ER3/4) although this is likely still subject to change.
- Middle seats are blocked out on the booking engine for all flights at the moment.
TUI
- All holidays before 01/07 cancelled.
- SOU PMI bookable from 07/07 onwards at the moment.
- Govt to allow EU tourists by the end of June. Depending on where the UK sits compared to this it does not seem impossible that this may operate from July or August for a (very) short season.
- SOU-PMI on sale 2x weekly from May 2021.
