+1: on the face of it, the pilot got off lightly, will likely get a fine and some soet of reprimand. The Base Commander decided letting him take off was OK, as the one with all the info, I sure ha made a pragmatic and fair decision. Well the person that flew the PC12 didn't have any common sense, that is definitely obvious. The base commander didn't make the decision, it was made by the duty ops officer. Some of my serving friends have a different view on what they would have done, that I concur with.
