FYI Willy Messerschmitt died at the age of 80 in 1978, having retired from Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm in 1970. Although there was an
Airbus Industrie GIE consortium in the late 70's it was nothing close to what exists today. All in all I call BS on that remark.
