The DC6s I flew had the engine analyzer in the radio rack behind the captain's seat...the F/E could easily see it from his seat with a twist to his left.
Those were the days.
Yup, I was lucky enough to get in at the very end of the era when the big pistons were still operating. The DC 6 is still my all time favorite airplane
