This is, of course the Professional Pilots Rumour Network.

However, I don't believe for a minute that a lot of the posters are as such. As an ATPL myself, it is easy to recognise a post that, perhaps, a colleague could have written. The more extreme comments appear to me to be written by people joining in the debate without being part of the profession.

I could not imagine, for example, a forum for Doctors, Dentists, Mariners, Engineers, Architects, Accountants etc. defaulting to regular personal abuse.

The pilots I know don't resort to personal abuse in any circumstances.

Why should it be any different on Pprune?

There are some pilot only forums and the general level of debate is at the professional level you would expect.
