and if they stop anyone over 40 flying then the effects are minimal anyway
Most of Europe appears to be 1.5m, I guess it's a case of UK "belt and braces", or perhaps because Brits have it all on understanding what a metre looks like, so making it 2m improves the chances of getting 1.5m separation. I tend to work to 1.5m+ when queuing.
