Totally off-thread, but another celluloid Spit that gets my vote is A Bridge Too Far. The young Dutch Resistance lad, pedalling down the track. Out of the haze behind him howls the Spit. A quick roll of Kodak over the Panzers, a 180 and back down the track. Lad waves. You think the driver didn't see him. Then a sudden wing rock ('you're not alone, Son') and the lad waves his arm off as the Spit legs it home. Gets me every time .....
