We are all well enough informed to separate the man form Virgin enterprises, however, Branson the publicity machine is the one spearheading the very public campaign for the loan and as the "spokesperson" it is natural that his name is used in conjunction with the debate. The issue for some may be that Easyjet got a bail out loan even after paying "contractural dividends" to shareholders, NAS may get a a bail out loan, despite their catastrophic business model, other players in Europe with inflated costs will ,so why not Virgin? the sentiment appears to be emotionally fuelled by individual wealth, of Branson, yet no-one commented on the 1.6 Billion wealth of Stellios..why.. possibly because he argued against it!
