Not in aviation myself but know several pilots who have been, or are about to be, made redundant, put on LWOP etc. All are noticeably stressed!
If they aren't aware of this thread, I'll be attempting to pull out at least some of the many relevant / worthwhile points being made.

Aside from learning about virology and epidemiology etc, perhaps you could also look at:
- history (Spanish flu and impact of different containment strategies in, for example, the cities of Philadelphia, St Louis and Denver - Charts 19 and 20) -
You can see how Philadelphia didn’t act quickly, and had a massive peak in death rates. Compare that with St Louis, which did.
