I thought Laurie Adlington was CFI of 3 Counties then. I flew G-BBNX and Y regularly. £30 an hour solo in those days, sounds cheap but I only earned £50 a week.
Laurie became CFI when Derek sold his share in the club and moved to Florida to open the Sebring Soaring Centre. .
