Aberdeen, received many raids throughout the war after Norway had been invaded and put the City within range. The harbour was the main target, both for ships afloat and also a major shipbuilding role. The Luftwaffe aircrew downed and killed are buried in the Dyce Old Kirkyard Commonwealth War Graves, along with RAF and other allied aircrew from RAF Dyce. As with all CWGs, the Luftwaffe graves (although in a separate section) are tended and cared for as all Commonwealth Graves are.
