Couldn't agree more. I started my PPL just 4 months before the financial crash of 2008. Took me 6 years to finish my modular training, and a further 2+ years waiting for the market to turn, but when it did, my god did it turn. I was told (by many) I spent too long training, in hindsight I think I timed it very well. Any earlier would have seen me sitting around for even longer waiting for a job. DON'T train integrated for the next few years, you'll be throwing away very large amounts of potentially useful cash at nothing. Go modular and take your time. Wait for the next cycle to start climbing before you aim to be finished. Good luck everyone.
