Brings back memories of doing Centralised Approach Control (CAC) for 10 TRW from Eastern Radar. Streams of individual aircraft (hardly ever a pair) flowing in and out, and with a very short track distance before handover to/from Northern Radar. Inbound we had about 20-30 track miles to get them into the stack level, pass the weather and hand off to RAPCON at the fix. The controller never stopped talking!!
