they've pulled out of EMA completely.
Was there earlier on today and we had six flights in EMA today in all - three each to GLA and EDI. Funny way of pulling out.
Saying that, BEs demise has been on the cards for sometime so perhaps they should have kept their powder dry in anticipation. launching IOM - LPL in competition with EZY also seems a very strange move. There is surely a lot more lower hanging fruit for them to grab. Gold star for anyone who can come up with a more ridiculous route than ABZ - NQY as well. Pretty sure there is not much oil business being done on Newquay beach.
A shedload of under-performing routes have been taken out in the last two months - NWI/MAN, EMA/BRU, GLA/SEN, ABZ/SEN, NCL/BRU - frees up five E135/145s in all. IOM-LPL is basically a patient travel bus. And ABZ-NQY was served with a flight every Saturday for years by Flybe with a DH8-400 and to be flown this summer with a much smaller E145 on the same basis.
Would a hint of factual accuracy be too much to expect?!
