BA Cityflyer at least have been known to take deals for routes. The services to Quimper and Angers in France were subsidised by the French airports so if the money is good enough BA is more than willing to take it.
No airline would turn down a deal if it makes the route make sense. Quimper & Angers were subsidised by the airports, but there are many other examples. But these aren't PSOs, which have a lot more rules and regulations and reporting obligations.
