Yes. The owner has to stump up the cash for debts incurred by that Airframe to get it released.
Which I always find a bit of a cheap shot really. It’s not the lessors themselves accruing these debts. If they are impounding for nav and op fees incurred today for example, they would be in default but would never have been invoiced for it.
