For an airline to rise as a phoenix takes time - see the demise of Sabena, Swissair or even bmi regional. There is a risk that during the period between the old airline ceasing and the new/surviving airline operating, a bigger airline decides to scoop up some of the most routes with most profit potential. I would not put it past Easyjet or Ryanair to have plans that can be activated quickly
Didn't MOL at Ryanair and Loganair both say discussions and plans had already been made to serve some routes should Flybe go under.
