Baggy I'm assuming you mean a combined CPL/MEiR modular course?
The best price of advice I would give my younger self is to learn the poh. Know everything about the aircraft and know all the checklists by heart, engine fire, failure, secure etc. Practise chair flying - an airplane at £500 an hour is NOT the place to be learning stuff, it's the place to be putting it into practice. Talk to people who have done the tests so you know what to expect: knowing what the examiner is looking for is ¾ of the battle. If you can fly accurately (enough) and you understand the test then it's all pretty easy to be honest. If your plane has a gps, use it. Know every button and every menu.
Other than that, enjoy the course - they will teach you everything you need to know.
