Reasons to divert from LCY to STN?

They do that on purpose to annoy the snobs who say 'I never fly from Stansted, it's too common for me. I only fly from City'.

Or more likely these was indeed a minor technical issue (relating to flight controls, hydraulics/brakes or whatever else) that made a landing at LCY an unwise decision as it has a short runway and steeper than normal approaches.
