It's an interesting topic of conversation. Someone had counted up the other day and we have apparently launched 32 new routes in the last year and ditched 8. Even though some were probably dead certs like the EMA-EDI & GLA routes, there are many that weren't but have worked. A few of the 8 were said to be reliant on outside forces like corporate arrangements or airport support which sound not to have turned out as expected either. Certainly I think it's far better that routes that aren't working are dropped quickly instead of being allowed to rack up big losses
The EMA-BRU was a bit of a poor show, as personally I think LM waited way too long before
starting it. Most of the regular pax who enjoyed the route with BMI (Toyota workers usually) had found other options in the 5 months or so that route was inactive. September was just too late, and the loads showed it. Only lasted a couple of months. Doing it from INV was also a bit of an odd decision too. That was the second failed attempt at INV Embraer expansion in 2019 (INV-EMA and INV-BGO cancelled). Can’t be much call for EMA to Northern Scottish airports at all, considering the ABZ now been postponed.
Loads seem pretty decent on the GLA-EMA and EDI-EMA though.
