Todays Times:-A former military chief has warned ministers against launching an “excruciating and debilitating” exercise in overhauling the way the Ministry of Defence spends billions of pounds on equipment.
General Lord Houghton of Richmond suggested that enhancing international alliances was a better strategy to boost Britain’s hard power, as the government prepares to launch a Whitehall review of foreign policy, defence and security this month.
