"Irresponsible" is trading recklessly by not providing the funding promised when buying in to the company and letting the bills mount up.
It is too late now for those airports to market themselves to more financially stable airlines for the coming Summer season.
A point made by another poster which I had not previously considered is even if they have not cut funding for maintenance any maintenance personnel leaving will probably not be replaced as no qualified candidate will risk their future on a company in such a precarious state.
This could have been easily solved by the wealthy investors adequately funding the company when they seized control.
