In light of yesterday's rejection to increase passenger numbers, what does this now mean for the transformation project at STN? Presumably the proposed arrivals terminal will now be further delayed until/if an appeal by MAG is successful, but what about various other aspects of the project? (e.g. terminal works, satellite reconfigurations/refurbishment etc).
Most of the planned changes and renovation work in the current building is going ahead or already has been completed. This includes new or renovated toilets, new quiet seating area, lifts and escalators being replaced and the first stages of the new baggage system coming online I the coming months. Obviously with the exception of the full reconfiguration of the current building to a full departures terminal will be held off for now.
