This craving for a Wide-Body Command is a classic case of 'grass is greener syndrome' and intrigues me no end. I guess the pay is a factor but some 747 Freighter operators in Asia pay no more than is on offer on some narrow-body contracts.
After retiring as a Long-Haul WB Captain I came back to the domestic narrow body world. I have to say I much prefer the short-haul flying. There is nothing glamourous about managing a flight for 14 hours and living in Hotels fatigued out of your brain. If I could live my career again I would stay a domestic pilot. Horses for courses I suppose but be careful what you wish for.
