Every time I go to Flight Safety for SIM checks etc; I ask for a hard copy and they will produce it with a little bit of noise.
Last time I kept a tally in the class room, and 50% of the time was wasted with people trying to flick through Ipad and other electronic storage devices.
Hard copy every time, a highlite pen, and sticky tabs .. wins every time!
You can add all your own highlighting and tabs for a PDF document as well, I'd suggest the ones scrambling through their iPad would have been under prepared with a digital copy or a physical one
It's not about one being better than the other really but knowing how to get the most out of each type as they do have all the same information, but you can't do a search on a physical copy mind you
