Unless that new type is nearly off the drawing board, airlines are stuck with the 737 and it's variants that they have purchased or ordered for very many years to come.
737 MAX or whatever boeing rename it, will now always be the elephant in the room when airlines consider new orders.
I wonder what they will rename it? "737 Stone" and "737 Brick" roll off the tongue nicely.
