The crash-landing place can be just near by, but it will be useful to have as much time as possible to "Declare Emergency, Secure the engine, unlatch the doors, and make any other preparations for the crash". Being at high altitude, One wouldn't want to be descending at high RoD while attempting to restart the engine.
good call, I should be more aware of that as well for that reason.
