Luftwaffle, the simple answer to your ex-boss is to ask for his version in writing. You then forward that direct to the relevant Authority. Depending on how vindictive you are feeling, you could also supply the local (and national) press with a few extra copies, so the general public understands (a) that the airline is inherently dangerous and (b) that they threaten any of their staff who raise important maintenance and safety queries.
