Just in case you didn't know the bomber crews were bombing targets and losing crews before the Battle of Britain. For instance the crews of Fairey Battles attempting to stop the German advance by bombing bridges.
For everyone here - do we have to have the usual willy waving like a bunch of 5 yr olds - my dad is bigger than your dad - and just be proud of them? Every single one of them did their bit and they all contributed be they groundcrew, ops staff, Poles, RN, and even Israeli.
