Go onto any of the civilian pension websites and look at what a similar pension would cost the average Sqn Ldr mate at age 60 and you wouldn’t get much change out of £3k per month. so LJ, how did it used to be 8% but people used to get paid a much bigger pension much earlier? We have had this out elsewhere. The discount rate determines how much you supposedly have contributed as a percentage of pension.
