the crowd who book 10 months in advance are not the market that Flybe need to go after. They need the business travellers who typically book late.
Better to get the timetable right than mess around with it at a later stage and cause further inconvenience.
They are going to have to get their act together if they are going to start feeding longhaul services. These will be booking 10+ months in advance.
